I’m Jimmy Westerberg, a photographer based in Västra Götaland, South West Sweden.

My work is rooted in the ordinary — the quiet, often overlooked places and moments that most people pass without notice. I’m drawn to stillness, to the everyday traces of life that sit between presence and absence. It’s within these spaces that I find meaning and beauty.

I didn’t grow up surrounded by grand landscapes or dramatic scenery. For a long time, that frustrated me — until I decided to make what I already had around me beautiful instead. The empty fields, small roads, and edge-of-town industrial sites became my landscapes. Later, I discovered the work of Jan Töve and Gerry Johansson, whose ways of seeing resonated deeply with what I had already started to explore.

Photography isn’t my full-time job — I work as a service technician — but it’s where I find my sense of connection and curiosity. It’s how I make sense of the everyday.

Alongside my personal work, I also run a community project called The Spaces in Between, where photographers from around the world contribute their own interpretations of ordinary beauty.
